Hello!

First time writing one of these in a long while. So, for the first time in forever, I updated NovArchaic, as I have been working on this update for over a year. I wanted to get things to a better state than they were, and while I didn't get to my original goal of finishing out the economy, I restructured and made things a bit better based on the feedback I had gotten.

This is a complete rewrite of my character musings posts from October 2022 found on my ko-fi. Hopefully, this will be a bit easier to digest.

In NovArchaic game design, I want to put characters first. That isn't just player characters, but nonplayer characters as well. NovArchaic is very much a "crunchy" story-focused TTRPG, where the parts of the story matter to the mechanics. But how do I do that in a tabletop RPG?

NovArchaic has been my dream game to make for the last ten years. At that time, while I may not be able to run a game, or work on the system, I had spent my waking hours not dedicated to something else, to the dream of the world and game. This base set is a setting I have run multiple games in and made sure is interesting to any players that came around.

I am going to start this off by saying one thing I hate to admit, I lied. I tell people all the time that NovArchaic is a classless tabletop, but like, there are classes, they just are not done the same way. In a class tabletop system, like the Dragon game, your character starts with a class and a lot of benefits that the class gives the character to allow them to interact with the game world in their unique way. That is not how NovArchaic does it!

Hello!

It's been a while, heck I think the last one of these I wrote was about humans and was before my game jam. I did end up writing a bit about my thoughts on that, some things I feel I should do better next time, but other than those I have been somewhat quiet on here. Sorry about that, work got me all sorts of stressed out, and I think I needed time to adapt to my situation (as I also try to evolve that situation for the better for me). I promise I am going to start writing on here again, just need to plan out what I want to write.

Hello!

It's been a while since I wrote one of these, since February 3rd; but I had a lot going on. Losing a loved one, and dealing with the stages of grief took a lot out of me. I slowly started to get back into doing my things thanks to doing the T3N streams on Sundays, starting to push for this game jam (which it has got so many people interested in such a short amount of time, I am stocked).  Then last night, I spent some time, thanks to some encouragement, talking about things about NovArchaic, and I realized I missed this. So, let me start this again!

So with how well received my post was last week with the Hiddenfolk, I want to do that again with a potentially strange creature to have as a playable species, especially with the system "just starting out" and that is the Fafnian Dragon.

Hello!

I am starting a new series to just have a reason to type up different things about NovArchaic. I am hoping that writing this stuff, as it should be a bit easier for me since a lot of the research is done-ish, and getting a few "wins" in the content area might help my brain tell me I am doing a good job.

This series will also be open to all people to see, although I would appreciate any followers or supporters (supporters get access to documents and design stuff while I am working on them, so like, there is that).

Hello Everyone!

I forgot to make a post here a week or two ago, so please forgive for me. I am restarting my Patreon. This is a move mostly to help me cover the costs of my creative endeavors (like my games I am releasing here) as well as other games I want to try to build and make. If you are curious, please check it out.
